FIS Teacher Assignments, etc.(Dates)

Mrs. Wellons asked that the following information be passed along. It is also posted on the FIS PTS website, www.fispta.org.

Mrs. Wellons' goal is to have class rosters posted after 3pm on Wed.
Aug 6.

FIS Teacher Meet and Greet - informal open house, stop by and find your child's classroom and meet his/her teacher briefly -

Friday, August 8:
3rd Grade 1pm -2pm,
4th Grade 2pm - 3pm,
5th Grade 3pm-4pm
(PLEASE COME DURING THE APPROPRIATE TIME)

Parent Nights:
3rd Grade, Monday, August 18 6:30pm
4th Grade, Tuesday, August 19 6:30pm
5th Grade, Thursday, August 21 6:30pm
---- all in the FIS Cafeteria

Also, they working to get the teacher supply lists posted on www.fispta.org. The lists will be posted as they are received. The 3rd, 4th and 5th grade generic lists are there now.

I don't remember the meet and greet when my kids were at FIS. It's a great idea!! Yeah Ms. Wellons.

That's great we will find out our teachers. My quesion is why can't we get supply lists out in time to take advantage of the tax free weekend? From my vantage it seems like an attainable goal. So attainable in fact that most other schools in Knox County made it happen. Anybody know why Farragut can't make it happen?

Farragut Middle had teachers/pods and supply lists (albeit generic) posted on Friday at 11 a.m. I was impressed!

We need to remember these issues and follow up in the spring. Some teachers did send home a basic list at the end of the school year.

However, this could be a great opportunity for the PTAs to send out their first email of the year with links to the school website and the supply lists. For those of you involved in PTA, is this doable?

There is a link currently on the website for the generic supplies. Problem is that until you know who your teacher is and what they want you to get you risk getting the wrong stuff.
